About Doha Academy

Doha Academy is a very well known school in Qatar situated in the heart of the city. Doha is also the administrative and business capital of modern Qatar.

Doha Academy opened its doors for the first time in September 2000. The school is supported by the Global Education Centre and administered by the Board of Directors chaired by Sheikha Aisha Bint Faleh Al Thani, a board member of SEC and ROTA.

Doha Academy is recognised in Qatar as a leading Muslim institution of education. We are an example of how to successfully integrate academic and religious curricula. Our Arabic and Islamic studies curriculum enhances the quality of general education our students receive. Each student feels that he/she is our most valued and appreciated student. They are eager to attend school each day, and are impressed by the school's consistent commitment to prepare them as competent, mature, young adult leaders in our society. Our objective is to provide a safe and supportive environment where our children can learn and grow with Muslim values. Doha Academy has set for itself the goal to better educate its students for living in harmony with their Islamic beliefs in any society.

Doha Academy is an independent, privately owned day school. Boys and Girls are separated in classes from year 6 upwards. The school offers a British based curriculum combined with Islamic teachings from preschool through to year 12. The school attracts many students from Qatar and further a field including other Middle Eastern countries, Indonesia, Malaysia, Europe, The United States, Canada and Australia. Our students truly reflect the diversity within the Muslim Ummah. Doha Academy has five divisions on three different campuses: Mamoura Primary school, Mamoura Secondary Boys School, Mamoura Secondary Girls School, Salwa Primary School, and Doha International Kindergarten.

The Founder

SHEIKHA AISHA BINT FALEH BIN NASSER AL-THANI

Doctor Sheikha Aisha bint Faleh bin Nasser Al-Thani is a member of Qatar Supreme Education Council, serving a second term. The Supreme Education Council is the highest educational authority in Qatar and its members were drawn from Qatar and international top leaders in government, business and academia.
Doctor Sheikha Aisha Al-Thani also sits on the Board of Directors of Reach Out to Asia, a charity initiative founded by H. E. Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani which, in addition to giving aid to areas in need, is looking at ways to support schools in different Asian countries to help them reach the ‘Education For All’ goals set by the UNESCO. ROTA is based in Qatar.
Doctor Sheikha Aisha bint Faleh al Thani is the Chairperson and founder of Al Faleh Group Which has made its mark in Qatar as a land mark that provides educational products and services to the highest quality. Three schools , including Doha Academy , fall under the group’s umbrella, all of which carry the hall mark of excellence associated with al Faleh Group. The Al Faleh Training Centre is also a member of the group; it is a centre that offers teacher training courses. Each year, the group organizes a high-profile conference tackling educational issues. She is the Chairperson of Prime which, through internal growth and strategic acquisitions, has emerged as a leader in the food and beverage sector, the company also hosts international brands such as Laduree among others. 
She also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Zaytuna Institute and Zaytuna College in the United States. The institute was founded by Sheikh Hamza Yusuf. It is an educational institute based in Hayward California.
Doctor Sheikha Aisha also served as the chairperson of the board of Patrons of the World Congress of Muslim Philanthropists from 2009 till 2011. WCMP is a global network of donors, foundations, and socially responsive corporations established to advance effective and accountable giving. WCMP mobilises financial and human resources to address global issues and advance efficient philanthropy.
Doctor Sheikha Aisha was a speaker at Qatar Foundation, UNESCO, Brookings Institute and City University conferences among others. She has also provided commentary on business and educational issues for many of the major TV and radio outlet, including Al Jazeera, BBC, and CNBC.
she was also chosen as one of the 500 Most Influential Muslims in the world for the year 2009, 2010 and 2011, in a book released by George Town University’s Centre for Muslim-Christian understanding and the Royal Islamic Strategic Centre in Jordan. The book was edited by Professor Esposito and Professor Kalin.

Doctor Sheikha Aisha bint Faleh Al-Thani has combined her interests in Education and Business. After graduating from the University of Qatar with a Bachelor in Education and a Bachelor in English Literature (with distinction), Sheikha Aisha went on to get a Master in Business Administration from the University of Hull in the United Kingdom, then received a PhD from Cass Business School in the United Kingdom in the area of ‘Corporate Governance’.

Doha Academy is a full-time private school open to all students aged 3 - 18 or K.G. to Year 12. Our programme is international in nature and prepares students for the University of Cambridge International and EDEXCEL examinations (IGCSE at Year 11 & AS Level at Years 12). Doha Academy schools offer boys and girls an education for life.
