Doha Academy hosted its sixth annual educational conference. The title of this year’s conference was ‘Education: Paradigm Shifts’.
Education workshops, presented by Sara Bubb from the UK, were held at Le Crillon Ballroom at La Cigale between 9.00 am and 1.00 pm on the morning of the 24th April. Invitations were extended to all teachers and administrators in all schools in Qatar free of charge. Sara Bubb leads England’s Advanced Skills Teacher (AST) network and has featured on and been a consultant for many Teachers TV programmes. She trains and quality assures AST assessors and inspected 25 schools. She sits on the Training and Development Agency for Schools’ (TDA) Journal’s editorial board.
There was a Gala Dinner at La Cigale on 24th April from 8.00 pm to 11.00 pm. Guests and entertainment at the dinner included: Sheikh Hamza Yusuf (USA), Imam Zayd Shakir (USA), Maher Zain (Sweden) and Hajji Noorideen (China).
Lectures by Sheikh Hamza Yusuf ’Best Ummah‘ and Imam Zaid Shakir ’Ummah of Knowledge‘ were given on the night of the 25th April 2010 at Al Wajba Hall, La Cigale Hotel at 7:00 pm.
